Train Ride Overview

Old Belize offers an unforgettable experience that will provide you with information on the country and its people.

The 15-minute train ride goes through five sections.

The first scene is the rainforest which shows the flora and fauna that make up our tropical rainforest.

Next is the Maya scene. The Mayas are one of the earliest inhabitants of Belize and even today people of Mayan descent form part of our multicultural population.

Move on to the premier industries of Belize, chicle, sugarcane, and logging. Each display shows how the products were collected and used.

The fourth scene displays the typical Garifuna fishing home. The Garifuna culture dates back to 1943.

The final exhibit takes you back in time, circa 1910, portraying North Front Street, one of the main streets then.
